Asian Art Department

Webb’s Asian Art department specialises in bringing exquisite Asian art and artefacts to market. Through auctions and private sales, we deal in high-quality Asian carvings, ceramics, jade pieces, bronzes, and other items.

Our specialist sales present a remarkable opportunity to obtain works that in many cases have not been available for 80-100 years. With centuries of history, and our specialists’ formidable expertise behind them, we are proud to offer investment pieces for discerning collectors to enjoy.

Recent auction highlights include the sale of a Chinese 18th century jade 'melon' carving which sold for $119,500, and a Japanese 15-16th century Mandala of Diamond World which achieved twice its estimate at $40,630. We also regularly see exceptional results for early 19th century Chinese textiles, lacquerware, and Nanmu furniture.

With a wealth of knowledge and an unwavering passion, we are dedicated to achieving the best results at auction. With a client base both within New Zealand and internationally, our specialist sales regularly see some of the highest catalogue views in the country for Asian art.
