Webb’s has been instrumental in the development of the New Zealand auction market for luxury collectible vehicles. The success of our auctions are evident in recent highlights, including the 2002 Ferrari 550 Barchetta which realised a price of $430,500, the 1998 Aston Martin Vantage V600 achieving $454,725 and the 1973 Porsche 911S Targa 2.4S, which sold for $324,500.

  • Caolán McAleer has been with Webb’s for eight years. He cut his teeth at auction houses in the UK and Ireland, before bringing his strong European knowledge to Webb’s and New Zealand.

    Caolán has overseen many of Webb’s most successful Collectors’ Cars auctions, and his leadership has taken the department to new heights. His expertise in creative marketing and his dedication to client services ensure that vehicles consigned with Webb’s achieve the best possible results.

Ian Nott

  • Ian Nott's four-decade journey in the classic car realm spans many countries and car brands. Born into the automotive world — with his father working at Wellington's Ford dealer, Avery Motors — Ian's childhood was steeped in car culture, fostering a lifelong passion. His diverse career as a sales rep introduced him to an array of vehicles, culminating in a pivotal moment when he acquired a Porsche 911 in the early '80s.

    As a former president of the Porsche Club of NZ and an avid racer, Ian has contributed to numerous charitable endeavours, including Drive for Kids, where he and other club members raised substantial funds for children with cancer. He has owned and worked with car brands including Ford, BMW, Holden, Hillman, Nissan, Mazda, Porsche, Audi, Mini and more.

    Ian's expertise — further honed through restoring vehicles and racing Porsches for over two decades — is invaluable in his role at Webb's, where he's been a pivotal figure since 2017. His consultative role involves catalogue writing, client interactions, valuing cars for clients and attending the previews and events — where his wealth of knowledge enriches the auction experience. Ian's optimistic outlook and unwavering dedication to the automotive industry make him an invaluable asset to Webb's and the wider community of enthusiasts.

Chris Wiseman

Administrator, Collectors' Cars, Motorcycles & Automobilia


  • Chris Wiseman is the Administrator for Webb’s Collectors' Cars, Motorcycles & Automobilia department, specialising in unique vehicles that range from classic gems with singular histories to modern classics, including 90s JDMs and iconic brands like BMW, Porsche, and Mercedes-Benz.

    His passion for automotive excellence was ignited by his father's love for cars and further fuelled by an interest in Formula 1, leading him to appreciate rare and unconventional automobiles and automotive treasures.

    With a Bachelor's degree in History and Criminology from Victoria University, complemented by his tenure at New Zealand Archives, Chris brings a robust foundation of academic rigour, practical experience, and understanding of heritage to his role at Webb's.

    Clients consistently praise his personable demeanour and professionalism, recognising his exceptional service and communication skills.
